Narrative of Video:
At the start of the video, a car pulls up and two men get out. The song is already playing in the background. The two men are talking back and forth about drugs. One man is talking about how he needs to get some dope and the other is telling him where he can get an album. This banter continues as they walk along the sidewalk with the crowd. The video changes as Ice T starts rapping. Images of jets on the runway are shown. The scene changes quickly to different images. A group of people are entering a security screening area. They take off their jackets and a man in a uniform inspects them. The scene changes to a man sitting on the back of a car while a woman dressed in a tight white dress makes suggestive moves to the music. The scene moves back to the screening area. The uniformed man finds something in the bag and one of the men takes off running. He climbs into a white convertible. The camera moves back to Ice T. The scene changes back and forth from Ice T to the car as the man drives away. As the car is moving along a city street, a police officer spots it and turns on his lights to pull the car over. The video changes back to Ice T and it's night out and there is a crowd of people on the sidewalk. The scene changes and you can see people passing something from one person to another. It is hard to tell what it is, but from the lyric of the song, it is more than likely some type of drug. The scene moves back to the car. Ice T is driving it as the policeman chases behind him. He loses the police car. The next scene shows him meeting with a group of men. The scene changes back to him sitting on the front of the car with the woman dancing. The scene moves back to the street. It's dark but and you can see him passing something, likely drugs, to a group of men standing on the sidewalk. The group begins walking along the sidewalk. The scene changes to inside a cafe and then back to Ice T outside. The video moves to what looks like a club. Ice T and a group of young men are walking along inside. The camera shifts to a man spinning records and then to Ice T and his group who have taken a seat at a table. One of the men at the table causes problems and two men grab him and forcibly take him out. The scene changes back to the street. Traffic is moving up and down the street. The scenes change quickly from the street back to Ice T to a group of people at a table and back to the street. People are walking around and traffic is moving along the street. The video changes back to inside the club. Ice T and his group are standing near a wall. The camera moves in close and then moves away and pans the crowd. People are moving inside the club; getting up from a table, walking around. The camera focuses in on Ice T again. The camera changes to images of people in the club again. It focuses on the DJ for a moment, then to a group of people at a table, to the car and Ice T and the woman dancing, back to the inside of the club. Someone has what looks like a small suitcase. It gets passed from one person to another. The camera moves back in close on Ice T again and the video ends.
How the Music and Video Relate:
The video shows scenes that help explain the lyric of the song. The fast image changes match well with the beat of the music.
Review:
The video does a good job of showing the gritty nature of the song lyrics.
