Narrative of Video:
When the video begins, the camera focuses in on one of the models in Palmer's "back up" group. The camera moves to a closeup of another woman and then on Palmer. The scene changes and the camera focuses in on two of the women's legs. They are moving back and forth in time to the music. The camera shifts briefly back to Palmer and then to two of the other women. They are holding guitars and moving back and forth to the music too. The camera pans out and shows Palmer is in front of a line of women who are all dressed in black short dresses. They are all wearing their hair the same, have on bright red lipstick, and have no expressions on their faces. They almost appear to be mannequins. Three of the women are holding white electric guitars and all of them are moving back and forth to the beat of the song. Palmer is wearing a pair of black slacks, a white shirt and a black tie. The camera alternates between Palmer and the women. The camera angle widens a little more and another woman can be seen playing an electronic keyboard. The scene stays on the group for a few seconds then moves to close ups of each of the women. The video continues with the camera alternating shots between Palmer and two of the women. There is one woman who is seen behind Palmer whenever the camera is on him. The camera moves to a pair of woman's hands playing the keyboard and then close in on one of the women's faces. It changes to a wider view and the whole group can be seen again. The camera moves back to the woman playing keyboard and moves down so that her legs are the primary focus. The scene widens again and the whole group is seen again. Palmer continues to sing with the line of women moving behind him. The video continues like this until it comes to an end.
How the Music and Video Relate:
The video and music relate in tempo, but the video doesn't really do anything to enhance the lyric of the song.
Review:
This is another example of women being objectified in order to make a video more appealing. While the women do not show as much of their bodies as some of the videos done by the heavy metal bands, they are the primary focal point of this video.
